A member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has been reportedly killed in a crossfire in Abuja after security operatives engaged suspected armed robbers.
The incident occurred when troops responding to a robbery attack exchanged gunfire with the assailants, creating panic in the area. During the operation, the corps member was caught in the line of fire and sustained fatal injuries.
Security sources said the operation was launched following distress calls from residents who reported an ongoing robbery. Troops were deployed swiftly to the scene, leading to a confrontation with the suspects.
